I kept getting back in bed; it was too dark! But the cats were fighting under the bed with wild hisses and bonks. I got up and fed them. But they continued in their raucous pursuits.
Like all felines, our three black cats are mysterious. They move like liquid around our house. Spying on us from all corners. They are born embassadors of the season we enter today: Scorpio.

In the predawn hours it dawned on me that Scorpio season begins today, Friday, October 23rd. It stands as a suitable seasonal peg that my son is set to play a villain on stage later today, Plankton, the tiny bad guy from Spongebob Squarepants. It was his top choice. Doubling down on suitability is that the performance will be followed by a jaunt through a haunted forest in a town that goes wayyy out to create spookiness.

How undeniable this shift always is, from the major key of tra-la-la apple picking to the minor one of decomposing leaves and scary decor. For just yesterday, at the seasonal edge, my son had his first piano lesson, where he learned middle C. What a wondrous note of exquisite normalcy, balance, and return! But today’s plan is villains and monsters (not to mention bewitched kitties.)
The days grow shorter, and the atmosphere changes, favoring dynamic creative tensions that churn beneath the surface. Pale mushrooms and rotting logs may look eerie, but these decomposers are actually nature’s recyclers. They turn dead matter into rich nutrients that feed the soil for future rebirth. There is rich, rich life brewing! The cats are restless, the sky is darker, and there is a secret Krabby Patty formula to steal!

I am just curious if anyone else feels like they are stepping out onto a Rod Serling set around this seasonal time. Please tell me in comments!
Happy Astro pondering.
